Going Green for St. Patrick’s Day

Going Green means a few things for us this month. St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner and even though it originated back in Ireland, we celebrate the holiday here in Australia with quite a bit of fun. At BrandMe, we also take the time to reinforce our commitment to the environmentby revisiting our recycling and responsibility to the environment and our commitment to our customers to save green!

Here are some great ways you can also Go Green this month with some energy saving tips for your office:

  1. Use recycled products in the work place. This not only includes the office supplies, but can also mean the products that your work purchases as well. Along those lines, we feature a variety of eco-friendly promotional products that will help your company in its mission to reduce the carbon footprint left on the environment.
  2. Turn off the lights when not in the room and use energy saving bulbs.
  3. Conserve paper use by printing as little as possible. Rather than writing paper checks sign up for online bill pay and pay employees using direct deposit.
  4. Switch computers to hibernate during breaks, turn monitors off when not using them, and don’t just turn off the computers when you leave for the day, for optimum energy saving, unplug them from the outlets.
  5. Consider stocking the office kitchen with your own plates, mugs, and silver ware, this can greatly reduce waste. Of course, using your own company’s branded mugs and promotional glasses will add to the décor!
  6. Add some office plants to spruce up your office space. Plants filter out impurities in the air and also add a relaxing atmosphere.
  7. Organize carpooling to work with other co-workers or use mass transit.
  8. Use non-toxic cleaning supplies to reduce waste and impurities from being added into the environment.
  9. Reduce water consumption wherever and whenever possible.
  10. Working together to recycle items from work, or even encouraging employees to bring recyclables from home will increase the recycled output level.
