Persuasive Words You Should Use in Your Copy to Increase Conversions

As someone who writes blog posts for business professionals on a regular basis, I am always on the lookout for information that I can convey to our blog readers that will help with your business. Finding this post on the best words to use in copy to help conversions will certainly be a big help to many. I enjoyed reading about it myself since writing is a passion of mine. If you are not too convinced, just think about a sentence, a question, or a request that employs one of those 5 words and reword it not to include that word. See what a different it makes?

For example:

Versus any of the following:

Reading the FREE Brandme Blog saves money!
Read the Brandme Blog BECAUSE it saves money!

The message is the same, but the delivery is different and much more likely to achieve your goals by including the persuasive words or call to action. One word really can make a difference. This can be illustrated by this simple, yet convincing study ishared by Brian Clark of Copyblogger. Social psychologist Ellen Langer tested the power of a single word in an experiment where she asked to cut in line at a copy machine. She tried three different ways of asking:

“Excuse me, I have five pages. May I use the Xerox machine?” – 60% said OK
“Excuse me, I have five pages. May I use the Xerox machine because I’m in a rush?” – 94% said OK

“Excuse me, I have five pages. May I use the Xerox machine because I have to make some copies?” – 93% said OK
